Lucy's trip to Paris during Fashion Week

Paris, city and capital of France, situated in the north-central part of the country. With the grand, Georges Haussman-designed central Paris, as well as the charming cobbled streets of Montmartre and the Marais, it’s no wonder Paris is said to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The city preserves its famous skylines under Unesco heritage protection which limits buildings to six stories and the carefully preserved buildings may go some way to explaining the romantic appeal of Paris.

Lucy Brooke explored the sites and scenery for Virtue during fashion week to capture the moments and enjoyable times spent with her family.

“I love going on holiday with my family it is always such a joy seeing them relax. They are also always so grateful that we are able to go on wonderful holidays. And look where we are now... Paris!”

Fashion week

Lucy Brooke was sent to Paris for fashion week where she was able to watch the inspiring event take place.

Paris Fashion Week, French for Semaine de la mode de Paris is a series of designer presentations held semiannually in Paris, France with spring/summer and autumn/winter events held each year. Paris Fashion Week is held at venues throughout the city. It is widely considered the most prestigious of the Big Four Fashion Weeks. Lucy Brooke was able to have a glimpse of the clothes from the latest famous fashion brands such as Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, and Céline.

I love bold and bright colours…

“I am so lucky I got to visit Paris Fashion week and was such an inspiration for my new fashion wardrobe. I have been inspired to wear bright colours such as yellows and oranges for this summer. I think it is important to wear bright colours as they give off energy and style!

"They are not just something you wear – they are a statement. When you’re wearing something bright and bold you’re immediately establishing your presence and indirectly you are conveying the message to everyone that you have a daring, bright and exciting personality.

Bright colours might not be for everyone and also not for everyday… you have to feel the part when you wear them. What I mean is that you need to be in the right mood to pull off that look."

Be bold all the way

If you choose to go for statement colours, do it all the way through your outfit. In my opinion, there is nothing worse than pairing dull and faded colours with bold and bright pieces. It just makes the outfit look really unbalanced and puts unnecessary attention on the statement piece as opposed to the whole look and YOU. Being bold makes you stand out as a person and shows your true passion for having fun and being an out going person.

Feel Comfortable

Since bright colours are such a statement you also have to feel comfortable. Start with slowly adjusting to the colours into your wardrobe with simple accessories and small pieces of clothing. Make sure the clothing is well matched with the rest of your outfit. Accessories can dazzle up the most simple of selections, but also complement an already-popping look. Whether it's a pair of dangly earrings, a stack of rings or a simple black choker, neck scarf or floppy hat, pairing every outfit with some kind of accessory is sure to add an extraordinary pop to an otherwise-ordinary look. Accessories are easy to wear, they provide a personal touch and they're an excellent ice-breaker.

PARIS CULTURE

Food

"I am a huge fan of food and I love to try new things. The ice cream in France was divine with endless tubs of mouth-watering glaces and sorbets. Chocolate ice cream takes pride of place in my life – there’s even a low-fat chocolate...

I recommend visiting Une Glace a Paris Montmartre Olivier Ménard & Emmanuel Ryon Meilleur Ouvrier de France Glacier."

Out and about

"Of course my favourite place to visit in paris was the Eiffel Tower. It truly is sensational place. just seeing it was amazing, especially at night. For five minutes every night, all the flashing lights on the tower are turned on, an it's a spectacular sight! It's amazing, really amazing. However, here's a tip, if you want to see the breath taking views that you would see if you queued for hours and went up the Eiffel tower, take a trip up the Montparnasse Tower, a huge skyscraper which looks like an office block, where on the top floor there is a public viewing area with a lovely cafe!"
